Mambila is a tribe in Cameroon, where they rely on Ngaame (spider), especially from Somie, to bring message from the ancestors, like other various Cameroonian cultures (Bafia, Ewondo, Bamoun). The dress is made in plain red cotton fabric with bogolan prints fabric stripes. Bogolan comes from the Bamanan weavers of Mali (West Africa). The term is made up of two words: "Bogo" meaning "earth, clay" and "lan" meaning "made with". It refers both to a women's loincloth and to the ancestral dyeing technique used to create it.
The dress has a zip in the back. It is made following your measurements (kindly provide them, check our size guide for directions) so it will fit perfectly.
